Garden Club will meet after school today and each Thursday in room 710.
The SW Garden project invites SW students, parents, teachers and staff to join us this Saturday any time between 9:00-3:00 in the school garden. This Saturday we'll focus on prepping the vegetable beds for spring planting. Wear old shoes and clothes, as it will likely be muddy. Check with Mr. Kennard in room 710 if you have questions. Weather permitting, there will also be garden work days on Saturday, March 29, and Saturday, April 12.
Attention 8th graders: If you are planning to try out for LHS Pom or Cheer, please note that the pre-tryout clinic has been cancelled for this evening.
March 7 at 7:00 and March 8 at 2:00 your friends are putting on a fantastic production of The Giver. Can't wait to see you there!
LHS pom and cheer packets are now available in the office. Stop by to pick up all the forms and information.
8th graders please listen up! The SW School Garden is looking for some of you to work in the school garden this summer. We'll be hiring two SW "Student Gardeners" to work regularly in and help promote the SW school garden this growing season Applications for these paid positions are now available in the front office or room 710. One of the application requirements is to volunteer at least 2 hours in the school garden. Please check with Mr. Kennard for more details.
If your student is going to be out of school for the day or coming in late, please remember to contact the attendance office at 832-5550.
If a student needs to leave school for an appointment, a parent or guardian must send a written note with the student showing the time he/she is to leave. The student shows the note to his/her teacher to leave class and brings the note to the office to check out. This keeps us from having to interrupt the class and saves the parent from having to wait in the office while the student is being called. If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking up a student, that person’s name must be included on the note. Students will not be released to anyone other than a parent/guardian without written permission from a parent. Students must check in and out with the attendance secretary for all appointments. If a student does not check out with the attendance office, the absence
will not be excused. Your adhering to this policy is appreciated.
Attendance information should be called into the office no later than 8:00 am on the date of the absence by the parent/guardian. If a guardian does not call in an absence, a written excuse that includes the student’s name, date of absence and reason for absence must be submitted to the main office within 3 school days of the absence. After 3 days, the absence will be recorded as unexcused and will not be changed. There is also an answering machine available for parents needing to leave a message outside of school hours (832-5550).
